Interpretation Requests
In Accordance with KCAP’s mission to decrease language access barriers in our community, KCAP provides free interpretation and accompaniment services during our weekly office hours. For cases requiring additional support outside of office hours, KCAP interpreters are available to to provide interpretation and accompaniment services to Karen and other Myanmar Ethnic Minority refugee community members at sliding scale rates.
KCAP is also available to partner with local institutions to provide live interpretation and document translation. Our standard fees for institutional partners are listed on the right:

Telephonic and Video live interpretation
$60 per hour
In Person Live Interpretation - Medical/Legal
$80 per hour
In Person Live Interpretation - School/other institution
$65 per hour
Document Translation
$0.25 per word (documents must be in PDF format, Karen font is not available on google platforms and will corrupt files if sent in Microsoft word).

KCAP Interpreter Availability
KCAP interpreters are generally available Monday through Friday 9 AM - 6 PM, and can be available during weekends upon request.
KCAP employs two professional interpreters and is working to encourage more young people to pursue professional certificates in interpretation. We have limited availability to take on many cases at once but are committed to providing as much language access support to the Karen community as we are able to.
