Seeds are life. We farm to sustain ourselves and our community, to preserve our culture, and grow strong roots in Philadelphia.
KCAP partners with Reinhard Community Farm and Kitchen in Southwest Philadelphia, and is excited to embark on a new project at the Lee Cultural Center in partnership with Farm Philly in West Philadelphia. The food our farmers grow is distributed to community members throughout South and West Philadelphia
In 2026, we grew and distributed over 5000 pounds of fresh produce.
Seeds and their stories
Summer 2026: Karen youth photography project documenting Karen farming practices
The KCAP youth photography program started in July 2026 as part of KCAP’s Seeds and their Stories project. The program taught participants photography skills with support from teaching artist Lori Waselchuk and Professor Steve Vásquez Dolph. Nine talented young people spent the summer documenting Karen traditional farming practices as we began our final transition from temporary farming land to our new permanent garden, Taw Meh Pah Garden.
