Seeds are life. We farm to sustain ourselves and our community, to preserve our culture, and grow strong roots in Philadelphia.
KCAP partners with Reinhard Community Farm and Kitchen in Southwest Philadelphia, the Novick Urban Farm, and the Lee Cultural Center in West Philadelphia. The food our farmers grow is distributed to community members throughout South and West Philadelphia, and to the Reinhard neighborhood!
In 2025, we grew and distributed over 5000 pounds of fresh produce.
The farm is a space for healing and for the Karen community to continue their tradition of using seeds as a form of cultural preservation. In order to sustain our farming projects, we aim to raise $10,000 for soil remediation to allow planting at the new West Philadelphia farming site at Lee Cultural Center.
Because the food we grow is provided at no cost to our community members, we aim to raise around $500 for the food we grow. A $10 donation provides no-cost produce to a family of 4. In addition to sustaining the food we grow, we need to sustain the farmers who grow this food! Many of our farmers are not able to drive to the farms themselves. $20 covers the cost of bringing farmers who cannot drive onto the site for a workday!
